Welcome to our fiber fest!

I don't know if other sheep-n-wool festivals serve beer, but hey, 'dis is Wiscaahnsin.

Speaking of dogs, what is a sheep-n-wool festival without working dogs? The sheepdog trials were breathtaking:

Spindler Mike Keach couldn't attend, despite avoiding Hurricane Ivan by visiting family in Wisconsin during the festival. He was sorely missed. But he sent flowers...

...with a lovely note for us!

They did, Mike, thanks! But we would have preferred to have you with us!

The flowers accompanied the Spindlers gang to dinner, enjoyed outside on the porch on this gorgeous evening at Ruggeri's Italian restaurant in Delafield, WI:

I had a wonderful time and managed to make only two gift purchases... but I'm going back tomorrow, as Rosemary assures me I will see sheepdog puppies herding ducks.

Will I refrain from adding to my spindle Spinventory, with all the tempting goodies? Will I succumb, as did Alicia, who now sports an entire collection of Grafton Fibers crochet hooks? Will Katrina buy that DT Babe wheel? Will Keach surprise us all and honor us with his presence? Will everyone's cellphones stop conking out, so that we can find one another as we scurry from barn to barn, scoping out the tastiest treats, most entertaining sheep shows, and yummiest purchases?

And for goodness' sakes, did Sparx, owned by Spindlers member Lael, win in her class? (And will I ever finish making her last year's fleece into that sweater for Jeff?)
